Circuit Overview

The Imola Circuit spans 4.909 km (3.050 miles) and consists of 63 laps, covering a total race distance of 309.05 km (192.25 miles). Known for its challenging layout, the circuit tests the skills of the drivers with its combination of high-speed straights and intricate corners. During races, cars reach speeds of approximately 296.7 km/h (184.8 mph), showcasing the intense demands placed on drivers to maintain control and precision at high speeds.


Circuit Essentials

The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix typically takes place in mid-May, offering favorable conditions for both spectators and drivers. Average temperatures hover around 23°C (73.4°F), ensuring an enjoyable experience at the track. The race is set in the beautiful region of Emilia Romagna, with Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) being the nearest major airport. Grandstand Guide

The Partenza 2, 3, and 4 Grandstands are located along the main straight, offering views of the starting grid and pit lane. These stands provide prime spots to witness the race start, pit stops, and podium ceremonies. The seating is numbered, and the higher rows offer partial coverage for added comfort. For a closer view of the action, the Tosa 1 Grandstand is situated at Turn 7, right after the second chicane. It offers close-up views of drivers navigating the tight Tosa hairpin, a popular overtaking spot. The seating here is numbered but does not include backrests.

The Acque Minerali 1, 2, and 3 Grandstands are located at Turns 11 and 12, providing elevated views of the sweeping right-hand corners in the Acque Minerali section. The seating is numbered but does not offer backrests, offering an unobstructed view of the thrilling action. For an inside look at one of the most challenging corners of the circuit, the Rivazza 1 & Prato Rivazza Grandstands are situated at Turns 16 and 17. These stands allow you to observe the Rivazza corners, a hotspot for overtakes. The seats are without backrests and are integrated into the natural terrain, offering an immersive experience.

The Villeneuve 1 and 2 Grandstands are located at Turns 2 and 3, right after the Variante Villeneuve chicane. These grandstands offer excellent views of cars as they navigate the chicane’s entrances and exits, making for dynamic racing action. The seats are numbered, but like the others, they do not include backrests.


General Admission Areas

The Acque Minerali area, located at the start of Turns 12 and 13, is an excellent spot to catch overtakes, while the areas between Turns 2, 3, and 4 offer a great vantage point for observing the cars in action, especially during exciting overtaking maneuvers.
